I love the musical Rent. I went to see it six years ago with my two best friends from college, Heather and Eric. It was the night before a big mid-term, and I tried to study in the car on the way to Columbus, but it got dark and I couldn't read my flash cards anymore. I didn't care. We were at Rent! All three of us fell in love with the show...We bought sound tracks, we learned the whole history of the musical and Jonathan Larson. We had the whole show memorized. I told my whole family about my love of this new musical and had my dad convinced he had to see it live. He went a few months later on a whim...He tried to get me to drive up and see it with him, and I almost did, but I couldn't miss an early morning class...He was glad I couldn't come, he would have been embarrassed.
Needless to say, I flipped when I found out they were making a movie of my favorite musical. I played my sound track non-stop for a week before the movie came out. I waited to see it for a little bit. I was worried that they would make my favorite musical into something cheesy and mainstream, and ruin everything that it stood for...But they didn't. I was fabulous! It was everything I hoped it would be and more. To anyone who hasn't seen it yet, go. Laugh, cry, love, hate-live for "no day but today."
p.s. I flunked that mid-term 6 years ago-but it was worth it!!

What a weekend!
Well! I'm home from what has been the longest 2 days I've had in a long time. On Saturday we all drove out to fort Wayne Indiana for Christmas with Kathryn's Family. We had a good time, despite the fact that three of us were having different allergy attacks. We got money, that's always nice, right? We ate a lot of food, had an amazing cheesecake, and heard the same silly joke about a parrot and a magician that we heard last year. Then we drove home (2 of us under the influence of benadryl) and went to sleep. This morning I woke up early and had to clean the snow off my car to go to Sunday school. I got home around 11:30 AM and mom and I got dressed up and drove to our alma mater in Ohio to sing in the annual Messiah performance. That got done around 5 PM, followed by the alumni reception, and then we got back in the car to drive the 2 hours home.
I can't remember the last time my pajamas felt this good. I will now finish my herbal tea and go to bed so I can get up at 5 AM and get ready for work.

Make it stop!!!
The smoke alarms in the condo have been going off for no reason for the last hour!! They stopped breifly, but I could still hear the buzzing in my head...then they started all over again!! Someone with the alarm company is on the way, but I just want to sleep.

This is spooky...
Tonight I was home alone, so I thought I'd go to the basement and watch the big screen TV for a little bit and spend some time with the punching bag. I was down there for a couple hours...Some strange movie was on and I got into it...But when I came upstairs the CD player in the living room was playing a CD my grandma had gotten me a couple years ago. Let me say again, I was home alone!! At first I thought maybe mom had turned it on before she went out, so when she came home I asked her. She hadn't touched the CD player! Totally freaky, don't you think??

Things that bug me about sports parents...
- They think the hotel staff are babysitters
- They spend the majority of the evening getting drunk
- They think the rules shouldn't apply to them
- They let kids run up and down the halls yelling
- Even after being told the kids can't run up and down the halls yelling, they let them keep doing it.
- They have no regard for anyone but themselves and the other members of the team
Thank goodness they are leaving in the morning!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Well, another thanksgiving has come to a close. I think this is the best meal I've had in my 26 years. We decided to brine the turkey this year, and it made all the difference in the world! It was so tender and juicy...And the flavor was amazing!! I'm sold on the brine concept from now on.
I've also decided that I will no longer make creamed onions for thanksgiving. People expect it to be made, because I've done it for more then 10 years, but they don't eat much of them and it takes too much time. Thanksgiving will survive without creamed onions. May they rest in peace.

my first blog
I thought it was time I join the land of blog...everyone else puts their 2 cents into cyberspace, why shouldn't I?
I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire today. A much better film then the last, but still a lot of things left out from the book. I guess I'm one f those purest freaks wo think every little detail of the book should be left in...oh well.
